FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(WILMINGTON, DE / EXTON, PA; December 9, 2010) — Just in time for the holiday season, Horizon Services, Inc. — the Delaware Valley’s premier residential plumbing, heating and air conditioning company — has partnered with Operation Warm to distribute brand new winter coats to local kids in need.
For the second year in a row, Horizon Services will donate $5 from every December invoice to Operation Warm, a homegrown charitable movement that now distributes coats to children in 26 states.
Headquartered in Chadds Ford, PA, Operation Warm is a non-profit organization that provides new, high quality coats to children whose families cannot afford them. These coats provide more than just warmth; they allow children to attend school, improve their self-esteem, and allow their families to spend money on other critical essentials such as food, rent and fuel.
“Last year, the total amount Horizon raised and donated to Operation Warm was $15,000 which resulted in 1,000 brand new winter coats for needy kids in Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland,” said Mark Aitken, co-owner of Horizon Services. “We’re optimistic that we can not only meet but surpass that total in 2010.”
This year’s program will kick-off when officials from Horizon Services and Operation Warm deliver 80 brand-new winter coats to students at the West Center City Early Learning Center in Wilmington, DE.
