Donahue explains how Air/Q works: ” The Air/Q appliance converts the liquid odor-destroying agent and fragrance into microscopic droplets that behave like a dry vapor. These micro-droplets are injected into your HVAC system to blend with the airflow and are uniformly distributed throughout the entire home. The homeowner can then easily adjust and control the operating cycle and scent intensity through a user-friendly computer interface inside the appliance.”
Air/Q’s patented micro-droplet technology delivers a uniform air treatment and scent throughout a home using an ultra-low concentration of liquid and with no build-up in the duct work. The system puts out droplets that are less than 1 micron in diameter, 1/50th the size of a typical aerosol droplet and weighing approximately one-millionth as much as those formed by traditional aerosols. Consequently, Air/Q can cover massive spaces evenly using a tiny fraction of the liquid required by other air-fresheners.
